Cole would say he wasn't at all sure of himself, just going along with the first thing that popped into his head and luckily Max was going along with it. His way of combating his nerves was to not give himself a chance to question what he was doing. Make a decision and go with it, like closing the short distance between the two of them so Max could do what he wanted. Hearing what the other man wanted him to do was certainly adding to the mental images in his head as he moved in front of him dutifully.

"I'm up for trying anything you want as long as you tell me how to do it," he said with a low laugh because he was allowing for the possibility of a screwup somewhere in here. He certainly didn't expect greatness out of either of them since they had never been together before. Maybe if they continued down this path and got to know each other better but this was just meant to be experimenting and enjoying something different for both of them. He would consider it a win if tomorrow he didn't feel a need to apologize and they were able to go to dinner and still enjoy each other's company.
