[There's no doubt in Max's mind about how much he wants the younger male that's sitting next to him on the drive home, but he doesn't know how long he can keep him for. There's so much going on that he's keeping from almost everyone. Does he leave Roswell and go back to his home planet to try and rebuild it now that he knows he's the only one with the power to do so? He's the only one with the power to regrow it from scratch.
It's an immense decision, and one he shouldn't be making with a teenager riding next to him with stars in his eyes. Max is certain he's going to fuck this up, and disappoint one or both of them. He's pretty damn good at that, but he's running into this like a bull at a red cape waiting for the knife to flash out at the last moment and gash his side.
Back at Max's place, the alien exits the car with a little more control than when he entered it. He takes Jason's fingers instead of his whole body. He sets them up on the large couch in the living room instead of carting Jason off to his bedroom. Hurray for self-restraint.
That doesn't keep him from pulling Jason to him for another lip numbing kiss. Fuck if they don't already do that really well together. Sometimes it can take couples months before they get to that point. They did it in a matter of a few kisses. Both of them like bites, and Max really enjoys that-- he needs someone that's going to be able to take and give some of what he likes. ]
