He can see the lines of fatigue spread over the other man's face. Max could even take care of himself if Cole was truly opposed to it. It wouldn't feel as great, but it didn't matter so much. What he'd wanted to accomplish was done and he was happy about it.
"You sure?" Cole replies with a questioning look. He'll stop if Max wants him to but he also doesn't mind, even though it's definitely not going to be his best work. He needs to sleep and he'll probably be up just as the sun is coming up, to ensure that he has enough time to make it back to his apartment and take his time getting ready for work. It depends on how hard of a sleeper Max is. If the other man will still be asleep when he moves. He's certainly not going to wake him up if Max is getting some much deserved rest.
"And you don't have to get up with me," he says with that on his mind. "If you're comfortable, you should get some rest. We already have plans to see each other again, you don't owe me anything." He didn't see this night coming at all and eventually it will hit him what he's jsut done and how their relationship has changed. But not right now, as he drifts off peacefully until the sun and/or an alarm clock tells him otherwise.
Hearing Cole say it that way sounds pretty flippant after what they just did together. Max then has to remind himself that this was merely a thing between friends and he can't expect anything more than that. Well, they did have a date planned, but that was it. Maybe he was a little too sentimental to do one night stands anymore he thought. Then he laughed, nah. He was probably tired, and needed some good rest. It had been a while since he'd had a night like that.
"Sleep well, Cole." He muttered, and then pulled the pillow under his head and moved up near the other man. He didn't get too close because it wasn't like that yet and they might get too hot during the night. He didn't know what Cole's thoughts were on that anyways. It was his turn to fall asleep shortly after Cole did.
