[Tasting Jason was nice and Max rolls the taste of him around in his mouth. He smirks and slowly licks his bottom lip enjoying the little duck of head and cheeky way the other skirts out of the house. It's cute, and Max likes cute.]

I can work with that. [He whistles softly as he moves around to the passenger's side. It's a rarity that he ever lets anyone drive his truck. Usually only when he's drunk, but he figured he'd be nice and give in this once to mend a fence he stirred up. That doesn't mean he's not gonna watch carefully as Jason pulls it into gear and drives out down the dirt road to the main and down and out to town.

It's not too far away, but it's enough for a little idle chit-chat as they go. The wild pony's a nice enough joint with a big sign announcing it to the dark as the place to go in Roswell.] Alright, I know the owner and most people in here, so I guess we should behave. [a challenge? and then a laugh.]

[It doesn't take long for max to get home to michael. His shift was only through lunch and early happy hour. It didn't break the bank, but it let him get home early. There weren't words for how wonderful it was to come home to Michael.

Until they got together, Max never thought of his home as lonely. Only those few night spent apart was it truly empty. Now, it was full and he loved coming back.

Walking through the front door, Max calls out Michael's name and moves back to the kitchen where he expects his love to be, pulling off his shirt on his way back for a quick shower before dinner (because bars will always smell like smoke, fried food and booze). ]

Thinking of you

Hey. I couldn't sleep so I went out. I didn't want to wake you just wanted to let you know in case I'm not there when you wake up.

[It was so hard to be gone for a day, a week will suck. It's weird how life works. One day he's swearing off emotions and feelings because they've brought him so far from where Max has wanted to be and then the next he's hastily erecting walls and drawing lines in this sand because he suddenly finds someone out of the blue he wants to care about again. It's a game of back and forth. Does he, doesn't he. How much will he find himself getting hurt this time around.

He knows that Jason's not out to hurt him, and Max can further help that by not shoving himself all over the gap. Drawing all his lines up. Max smiles. ]

No troubles, you know. We can always talk about things. I don't ever want us to get to a point where we don't talk. It's not easy, but I think it's good, I mean better if we start out trying to talk the best we can with one another.

Visiting the big city sounds fun. I've never been to New York, might as well see the sights.

[Maybe he's a little full of it, since he probably won't ever say what he's really thinking when he's thinking it. Maybe he will. Max is a dreamer, a romantic, a person with emotions, and while he's gonna work on himself, and the rational side of him-- he needs to settle both sides and make them work together-- and once he does, he'll know that it's time to head home. He's pretty sure it's gonna be a while before he can do that.]

I was going through a box of my stuff and found this old picture. Made me smile. I think I took you by surprise ha.

To celebrate today being my thank god I didn't get married a year ago anniversary I'm going to give you an orgasm in every room in this house when you get home just so you know.

[When Max gets home, he will find a large bouquet of sunflowers wrapped in brown paper on the counter with a simple handwritten note.]

[That makes sense. Jason's thoughtful, and he's treating Max good-- even if Max certainly tells him to go on as if everything is normal. He doesn't want to be a bother. He's merely thankful that Jason is still around for him, given everything. Sure, the time frame is different for them both, but some memories are fresh even if Max isn't sure about leaning on all of that.

There's a warm smile that creases Max's features, and tints his brown eyes. It's visible even in the dim lights of Gotham's night air.]

It's still a little hard to believe you waited. You're so fucking amazing. You didn't have to...

[It's true, Max took a leap of faith, but he was never so glad to see someone again as when he showed up here and found out that Jason hadn't moved on. He counted the steps as they went up. Sure, he thought it was only in his head, but they came out step by step. They made it. All the way to Jason's flat with a sigh. He mainly wants to lean in and wrap his arms around the other for being so sweet, but Max knows he needs to wash the gross from the bar and street off him first.]

It was a light mark by Max's standards. He leaned back in and lifted a brow. "That's barely a mark, my friend. It's a standard to leave behind something to remind you of the fun we're having. It'll be gone before the day's up tomorrow, and you know your shirt will hide it." He was still grinning widely, not the least bit chastised by anything that Chase could say. While he'd suggested the body shots, Chase had agreed. If the other wanted to halt it, he certainly could at any time. Max would never do anything beyond what someone was comfortable with.

They were friends, but only just. It wasn't like Max knew about his upturned engagement, anymore than Cole knew about Max's abilities. Things like that take time. Max was open about some things, but he figured that Cole liked guys well enough to do shots off of one, so he wasn't so worried about sexuality. "Pick your spot and it's all yours." Wherever it was, Max opened himself to it-- removing his flannel and setting it aside before they even got started, so even if Cole opted for his wrist it was easy enough.

[Jamie doesn't bother to answer -- everything he wants to say, he'd rather say in person. He throws himself into finishing off anything that might be asked of him instead, making sure that as soon as possible after the clock strikes, he can be let off.

It's a jittery ride home, followed by a brief jog from the bus stop down the street. Jamie's a little disheveled by the time he lets himself in, work clothes in disarray from his impatient fidgeting -- tie hanging loose instead of fully undone, cuffs unbuttoned, collar half-up and half-down. He doesn't really care enough to fix it, or even to immediately go to change the way he normally would, seeking out Max instead to get his arms around him, words falling out quick and certain:] Hi. I love you.
